Your data

Delete your account.

You can close your Mavio account and remove the data held with it at any time, from inside the app or by emailing us. This page explains how, what is removed, and what we are required to keep.

Delete your account from the app

If you signed up with an email address and password, you can delete your account yourself:

1. Open Mavio on desktop, web, Android or iOS.

2. Go to Settings → Account.

3. Choose Delete account.

4. Re-enter your password to confirm. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Your password is requested again at this step so that someone using an unlocked device cannot close your account.

02

Request deletion by email

If you cannot use the in-app route, email privacy@mavioapp.com from the address on your Mavio account and ask for your account to be deleted. We will confirm your identity before acting on the request, and complete it within 30 days.

Use this route if you signed in with Google or Microsoft and never set a password. The in-app flow re-verifies a password, so there is nothing for it to check on a provider-only account, and privacy@mavioapp.com is the way to have it removed.

Use it too if you own a shared workspace and would rather we handled the hand-over with you.

03

If you own a shared workspace

Deletion stops and tells you which workspaces are in the way if your account owns a workspace shared with other people.

This is deliberate. A shared workspace holds other members' meetings, recordings and notes, and closing one person's account is not a reason to destroy a team's records.

Transfer ownership of each shared workspace to another member, or delete the workspace if it is genuinely finished, then delete your account. Your personal workspace needs no action — it is yours and is removed with your account.

04

What is deleted

Your account and sign-in credentials, including any connected Google or Microsoft identity.

Your profile: name, email address and profile picture.

Your personal workspace and everything in it — meetings, audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes and tasks.

Messages you posted in channels you own, and your membership of any workspace or channel.

Connected integrations and their stored credentials. Tokens are revoked with the provider as part of disconnection.

Your billing container and subscription records, beyond what tax law requires us to keep (see below).

05

What is kept, and for how long

Personal data is erased within 30 days of a deletion request, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

Meeting audio is not kept once a transcript exists — the recording is deleted at that point, during normal use, whether or not you ever delete your account.

Shared workspaces you were a member of but did not own remain with their owner, along with meetings recorded into them by other people. Your membership and your profile are removed from them.

Invoices and payment records are retained where tax and accounting law requires it, typically for seven years. They are kept for that legal obligation alone and are not used for any other purpose.

A security log recording that an account was deleted, and when, is retained so that the deletion itself is auditable.

Anonymised, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to you or your account may be retained indefinitely.

Backups are cycled on a rolling basis. Data already erased from live systems may persist in an encrypted backup until that backup expires, and is not restored into service.
