It hears the whole machine
The Zoom app, Teams, Webex, a browser tab, a phone bridge. Mavio mixes what your computer is playing with your microphone, so it never matters which platform the meeting is on.
It notices the meeting
When another app takes your microphone, Mavio asks whether to record it. Calendar events offer Join and record, so the meeting arrives already named.
It keeps up while you talk
A pill in the corner holds the live transcript, your notes, and Eva, who flags what went unanswered and can be set to the kind of call you are in.
It starts from anywhere
Cmd or Ctrl, Shift and R starts and stops it from any app. Close the window and Mavio keeps running in the menu bar, with the recording controls in the tray.

Recorded on your machine
The recording is written to your own disk as it happens, so a dropped connection cannot cost you the meeting.

Uploaded to your workspace
When you stop, it uploads in chunks and resumes from where it left off if the network goes away.

The local file is deleted
As soon as the upload finishes, Mavio removes the recording from your disk. Nothing is left behind.

The audio is purged
Once the transcript is ready the audio is deleted on the server too, inside a seven day ceiling. The transcript and summary stay.
- Your screen and your camera are never recorded. Audio only, always.
- Nothing joins the call. Other people see no participant and no notice.
- Transcription runs on Mavio's servers, not on your machine. We would rather say so than claim otherwise.

Does a bot join the call?
No. Mavio records the audio your computer is already playing, together with your microphone. Nothing joins the meeting and nobody sees an extra participant.
Which apps can it record?
Any app that makes sound: the Zoom, Teams or Webex apps, a meeting in a browser tab, a phone bridge, or a recording you are playing back. Mavio records the machine, not a particular platform.
Does it record my screen?
No. Audio only. On macOS the system asks for the Screen Recording permission, because that is how macOS hands an app the computer's audio, but no video and no screen content is ever captured.
Where does my audio go?
It is written to your own machine while you record, then uploaded to your workspace. The local file is deleted as soon as the upload finishes, and the audio on the server is purged as soon as the transcript is ready.
Is the transcription done on my computer?
No. Transcription runs on Mavio's servers. Recording keeps working without a connection and the upload resumes when you are back online, but the transcript is made after the recording is uploaded.
Which Macs and PCs does it run on?
Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 13 or later, where Mavio can record the computer's audio; on macOS 12 it records your microphone only. On Windows it needs Windows 10 or later on a 64-bit machine. There is no Linux build yet.
Put it on your machine and forget it is there.
In the browser instead, the Chrome extension records the tab, and the mobile app records the room. One workspace holds all of it.
